Following yesterday's visit to the Hermitage, I finally got round to seeing the Gauguin exhibition at the van Gogh museum today: Unexpectedly small, expectedly full of good art that's not really to my taste (certain woodcuts excepted).
What very much was to my taste, was much of the work in the 2nd floor exhibition Meesters uit Museum Mesdag (Masterpieces from the Mesdag museum). The Mesdag musuem in the Hague is part of the van Gogh museum and currently being rebuilt - on the basis of this selection, I will be eagerly awaiting its reopening.
