Amsterdam is blessed with two great photography museums: Foam and Het Huis Marseille. The (fascinating and comprehensive) exhibition of the work of Alexander Rodchenko just finished at Foam and has been replaced by smaller exhibitions by 3 artists (plus a terrific one-room mini-exhibition by Linus Bill). I went there today and, whilst I wasn't particularly taken with the ultra-realism of Paul Graham and Cuny Janssen, I loved the It might seem familiar exhibition of Ari Marcopoulos' work. His studies of youth culture and portraits of the famous and unknown have a real sense of life in them and are deeply absorbing. Recommended.
